Almost unrivalled for beauty and architectural splendour; the entire city has been declared a national monument. Granada has a privileged location, just 30 minutes from the natural park Sierra Nevada and its winter ski resort and one hour to the Costa Tropical. A provincial capital with a university and archaepiscopal see, the city is divided by the Darro which runs underground in the city centre. On the right lies Albaicín , the city's oldest quarter; on the left rises the imposing Alhambra.
Its unique history has bestowed it with an artistic grandeur embracing Moorish palaces and Christian Renaissance treasures. As the last Moorish capital on the Iberian peninsula, it also holds great symbolic value.
Walk through beautiful gardens, charming narrow streets filled with flowers, sit down in one of those typical taverns to have some of those famous tapas while tasting the local wine, and breath the centuries of history around you anywhere. In the city you will find gypsies singing “ Flamenco ” who will let you feel the rythm of Andalucia.
